UFC will show five UFN 24 fights on Facebook

Dana White says the future of sports viewing is on the Internet. The UFC must feel great about its recent Facebook broadcasts because for Ultimate Fight Night 24 this Saturday in Seattle, it's expanding the coverage on the social networking site.

Viewers will see at least four bouts on Spike (10 p.m. ET/PT), but with a deep card, there was a good chance avid fans of MMA were getting shutout of watching some excellent matchups on the eight-fight non-televised undercard. The promotion has gone a long way in trying to deliver those fights by promising to show five of them on the Ultimate Fighting Championship Facebook page (7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT).

Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres vs. Mackens Semerzier
Jon Madsen vs. Mike Russow
John Hathaway vs. Kris McCray
Michael McDonald vs. Edwin Figueroa
Sean McCorkle vs. Christian Morecraft

The UFC began showing undercard fights on Facebook at Fight for the Troops 2 in January. It was a smart move by the promotion. The free view on Facebook is a great way to build interest in young fighters. The cost certainly has to be minimal in comparison to carving out a three or four hour block on television.
