Din Thomas' luck ran out before he even got to his fight on Friday night. The UFC veteran was scheduled to fight in the main event in a Florida promotion, and was injured in a car accident on the way to the bout. Howard Davis Jr., both the fight's promoter and Thomas' boxing coach at American Top Team, gave an update on Thomas' condition.
"I just got some information from one of his trainers, and he stated that Din is a little banged up," Davis said. "His ribs might be broken, his arm hurts and his head is a little banged up. (But) they said that he should be OK."
The sad part of this is Thomas was trying for a comeback after not fighting since January of 2010. He has nine fights in the UFC and was on the fourth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," and has wins over Clay Guida and Jeremy Stephens. Thankfully, his injuries are not serious, just poorly-timed.
