From Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, UFC 131 will be going down tomorrow night, and it should be a very exciting show.
It features a main event between heavyweight power punchers Junior dos Santos (12-1) and Shane Carwin (12-1). Dos Santos is 6-0 inside the UFC, while Carwin is 4-1 with his only loss coming to Brock Lesnar in their title fight from last year.
Other fights on the main card include Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes, Jon Olav Einemo vs. Dave Herman, Demian Maia vs. Mark Munoz and Donald Cerrone vs. Vagner Rocha.
Knockout of the Night: Junior dos Santos
If this fight didn't guarantee a knockout, I would pick it to be fight of the night. What it comes down to is the first person who lands big, and while Carwin holds a big advantage in one-punch knockout power, I like the more technical and fluid striking of dos Santos to get the job done in the second or third round.
Sometimes these fights are jinxed to go to a decision, but with a title shot on the line, both fighters will be looking to step it up a notch and get a convincing victory.
Whoever wins this fight, it's the anticipation that is going to have people on the edge of their seat for however long it lasts with all of the tension being released with every strike that lands.
Fight of the Night: Jon Olav Einemo vs. Dave Herman
The fight between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jon Olav Einemo and Dave "Pee Wee" Herman is an interesting contrast in styles.
Einemo is strictly a grappler, and he hasn't fought since 2006, when he submitted James Thompson. He was originally scheduled to face Shane Carwin before Carwin filled in for Brock Lesnar in his fight with dos Santos.
Einemo's opponent, Dave Herman, is an interesting character outside the ring and an even more intriguing fighter inside the ring. Fans will always get their money's worth when Herman fights, and he has 19 finishes in 20 victories to back it up.
Expect to see Herman try something crazy in his UFC debut. He loves to throw flying knees, elbows and spinning roundhouse kicks.
This fight could end in highlight-reel fashion, and it could even steal the show if it goes all three rounds and is a war from the first bell to the last.
Submission of the Night: Krzysztof Soszynski
Former TUF competitor Krzysztof Soszynski is 25-11 in MMA with 11 wins coming by submission. His first two victories inside the UFC came by kimura.
"The Polish Experiment" has a solid opponent in Mike Massenzio, who is making his return to the UFC after picking up a win outside of the Octagon in April. In an unusual career move, Massenzio is making his light-heavyweight debut after fighting his entire career as a middleweight.
Massenzio is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but he may be slightly overmatched against the much stronger opponent in Soszynski, who loves to submit his opponents and is a former heavyweight fighter.
I expect to see Massenzio submitted late in the fight, but it could come earlier.
